Milk fibre is a relatively new fibre. It is environmentally friendly, demonstrates superior strength and has many of the same properties of wool. It truly redefines the traditional definition of an animal protein fibre. It has a beautiful lustre and feel similar to that of silk.
It is great for blending with your favourite fibres for adding strength and can be used in spinning or as an embellishment in felting.
It also has good moisture absorption and conduction.
It takes dye beautifully; is comfortable, white, fluffy and springy; has a pH of 6.8 (same as the human skin); and can be blended with virtually any fibre or spun on its own.
Hand dyed in Australia by Tatyana Andrew in colours exclusive to The Thread Studio.
